We are seeking to recruit a Theatre Technician to join our dedicated theatre team at the Bacon Theatre. If you are a skilled, professional technician, brilliant with people, flexible and experienced in working solely or in a team on a wide variety of different types of shows, we would love to hear from you!

The Theatre Technical team delivers the technical requirements of the year-round public programme of events in The Bacon Theatre, including: Touring theatre, live bands, classical ballet, family shows, celebrity speakers, satellite broadcasts and cinema screenings, as well as outdoor staged events, all of which run alongside a substantial schedule of venue hire and high calibre Dean Close School productions and events.

This role is mainly based in the Bacon Theatre but in addition provides technical support for associated venues across the site, including the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, The Prince Michael Hall, 1914 Centenary Hall, Dean Close Drama Studio and also the school Chapel.

The Bacon Theatre is a 566 capacity, purpose-built performance space with an auditorium on two levels, 18m x 11m stage, 5.6m height proscenium and an open/closed orchestra pit which will be undergoing a major technical refurbishment in July 2021, seeing a large investment in new LED fixtures and electrical infrastructure. We also run a successful Open-Air Theatre Festival out in our Tuckwell Amphitheatre which seats over 250 people per show for 2 weeks in August.

An ideal candidate for this role would be resourceful, knowledgeable and a strong team player happy to work on their own and within a team.
