When visiting, please bring low-backed seating (camping/deck chairs are ideal) and prepare for all weathers. In the event of unsafe weather this event will transfer into the Bacon Theatre.

Hot and cold drinks, including alcoholic beverages, will be available to purchase along with a selection of snacks, sweets and chocolate.

The idyllic, stone built, Tuckwell Amphitheatre is the perfect setting for our annual Open Air Theatre Festival. Surrounded by lush trees and shrubs and sheltered from the outside world, this magical venue attracts the very best in touring open-air theatre from across the UK.

This gem of an outdoor festival, tucked away in a secluded corner of Dean Close School, plays host to sublime jazz, classic drama, inspiring Shakespeare, colourful family entertainment, local talent and the enchanting Cinema Under the Stars; during our Tuckwell Open-Air Theatre Festival each year during August.

Tuckwell Amphitheatre is just a short distance away from the Bacon Theatre, and there is free on-site parking available. Please be aware that spaces cannot be guaranteed during busy periods so please allow plenty of time for parking.
