At an early age David won 5^th prize in the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin competition and in 1986 came 2^nd in the BBC Young Musician of the Year. On completion of his studies with Igor Ozim in Switzerland he returned to England and began a career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher.
An experienced chamber musician he has been a member of the Kreutzer quartet, the Medici Quartet, Tippett quartet and is currently a member of the Caractacus quartet and the Orsino piano trio. Over the past ten years he has been the duo partner of pianists Charles Owen, Andrew Zolinsky, Catherine Edwards and Tom Ades.
David has lead many orchestras including Orchestra of the Swan, the London Festival Orchestra, the Brunel Ensemble and Continuum, the English Mozart Ensemble, and Vivaldi Camerata.
He has performed with the highly acclaimed music theatre group the Gogmagogs and formed the electro-acoustic ensemble Subway Piranhas.
