This is NOT a drill, this is NOT a tribute!
On July 24, 2018
So you may already know that we like to host many tribute acts at the Bacon Theatre, to take you on a journey back to the ‘good ol’ days’ but not this time. This time, we have three OFFICAL acts taking over our stage.
We’ll give you a moment to let that sink in…
First up are The Three Degree’s all the way from sunny Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
You might remember them for songs like “When will I see you again”, “Dirty Ol’ Man” and “Take Good Care Of Yourself”. Video – The Three Degrees
If you havent heard, the Three Degrees are an American female vocal group, formed in 1963, they are a firm favourite with Prince Charles. They sang at his 30th birthday party and were guests at his wedding to Princess Diana. The Three Degrees are well known for their soulful voices, beautiful gowns, and fabulous stage shows.
Followed closely by an evening with Sixties group The Dreamers: Formerly Freddie & the Dreamers with original members Alan Mosca and Bryan Byng.
Having been members of the Dreamers for over 37 years their pedigree speaks for itself having previously been part of Freddie and the Dreamers and members of the band that contained a true superstar of the Sixties Freddie Garrity.
In the first half of the show Alan & Bryan will be joined by Colin & Steve The Temple Brothers with a special tribute to The Everly Brothers.
Finally (and there is no pun intended here) The Real Thing will be helping us see out 2018 with their Feel the Force Tour. Whilst celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut hit single ‘You to Me Are Everything’, original vocalists, Chris Amoo and Dave Smith, will be performing their million-selling hit singles including, ‘Can’t Get by Without You’, ‘Whenever You Want My Love’ and ‘Can You Feel the Force’, which made them the UK’s best-selling black group of the late 70s.
Commenting on The Real Thing’s success, singer Chris Amoo said, ‘There’s always going to be a sense of nostalgia about our music. It’s the sound track to so many people’s lives and that will never die.’
